I thought fundraising was just about having a great idea and pitching it well…

But in my first startup, I didn’t meet a single investor. In my second, I met five—and no one wanted to invest.

I had nothing to show for it.

I had read every fundraising guide I could find—watched YouTube videos, studied pitch decks from top startups, and followed all the “expert” advice.

Nothing worked.

At this point, I had failed two fundraises, shut down both startups, and wondered if I would ever be able to raise from investors.

So I stopped spamming investors with cold emails, stopped going into meetings without a clear plan, and ignored everything I thought I knew about how to fundraise successfully.
